Brandon Kleeman

My name is Brandon Kleeman. I got my associate's at NVCC before transferring to GMU to pursue my BFA. I am currently studying Art and Visual Technologies with a focus on Graphic Design. My favorite aesthetics consist of abstract black and white forms, Clean Cel Shaded imagery, and the Vaporwave/Outrun/Retrowave inspired styles and color pallets. The 80’s inspired style of Vaporwave and Outrun I find incredibly interesting. I love the color pallets, music, and visual motifs associated with the styles. My favorite subjects in Graphic Design are Package Design, Illustration, and working with typography.

I am a Windows Power User and have optimized the OS to increase my productivity. With my hardware, I am able to optimize my work into various virtual desktops depending on the task. Advanced software like PowerToys and Everything assists with quick layout optimization across multiple monitors and finding files quickly, I also utilize macros on a Stream Deck to speed up my workflow by accessing shortcuts and navigating to frequently accessed folders and bookmarks in an instant.

I also like to use iPadOS for early ideation, planning, sketching, and illustrating.

As for hobbies, I enjoy digital photography, assembling and upgrading computers, 3D printing, and VR. I can spend hours editing photos and designing one-of-a-kind objects for printing. I feel I am drawn to package design for the same reason I fell in love with additive manufacturing technologies. The process of seeing an idea transform and take on a 3D form is immensely satisfying.
